Josh and I are pretty practical people. We don't usually do big presents for each other, we aren't good at keeping surprises, and we just aren't usually too romantic.
Well, this past valentine's day was our tenth together. it's hard to think that we have had ten years together. the Lord so clearly put us together in such a loving way. we were not looking for each other and we found each other. I am so thankful for the blessing that Josh is in my life.
On Tuesday, I was picking the kids up from Terri's house. Josh let me know that he needed me to drop off Caden and Laura with him at our house and that he needed Timothy and I to run a few errands and give him about 30 minutes or so to set things up. I ran to Publix to run some errands with Timothy. While I was there, I locked my keys in the car, ran into Rachel and Nate, hitched a ride back home, and then walked into the plot of Josh's romantic night. He had me wait at the top of the stairs and then he escorted me to our room. He asked me to put my nicest dress on and that he'd call for me in a few minutes.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on my door. I opened it to find my sweet 5 year old Caden dressed in his finest. He held his elbow out and asked me if I would like to go on a date with him. We made our way down the hallway and into the dark, candle lit dining room, to a draped table and set with our finest china. Once we were in the dining room, I saw Laura Grace dressed in her finest (as picked out by a fashion forward 4 year old), acting as our server. She had a little notepad and she was scribbling our order. What we wanted to drink, if we wanted salad and everything else a server would do. She was so polite and was so beautiful! Josh had stopped by Olive Garden on his way home and was dressed in his finest (vest/jacket/tie) helping Laura Grace serve and prepare our food.
After our date, we spent the next 30 minutes dancing in the kitchen to the romantic music that was playing in the "restaurant."
so thankful for Josh and the kind, loving man that he is.
Have been meaning to ask how this ended after Publix. Glad it was a good night. Bet that was one handsome date. Hope you left your waitress a good tip.
